Ciputra Mall in Cibubur, Bekasi, experienced a fire on Tuesday afternoon (17 February 2026), sparked by a welding project. The following is the condition of the mall after the blaze was extinguished by fire brigade officers.

Observations by detikcom at the scene showed that the fire was on the ground floor of the mall, positioned directly above the main lobby entrance. By the time of reporting, the fire had been fully extinguished.

Remnants of the burnt billboard were still visible at the site of the fire. The blaze had scorched the building’s walls, turning them grey with soot.

Passers-by and motorcyclists occasionally stopped to observe the mall’s condition following the fire. The mall was still operating normally at the time.

The fire report was received by the Bekasi City fire brigade (Damkar) at 13:41 local time. Two fire engines were dispatched and arrived at the scene at 13:52.

Namar Naris, Head of Fire Suppression and Rescue at the Bekasi City Fire Brigade, said the fire was extinguished by 14:22. He stated that the fire was believed to have originated from welding sparks during work on a billboard logo project.

There were no fatalities or injuries from the incident. Fire brigade officers remained at the scene to carry out the cooling process.

“The area burnt measured 8x6 metres,” said Namar.
