After Viral AI-Generated Photo in JAKI, Illegal Parking in Kalisari Now Cleared
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – After the viral image of vehicles parked on the roadside in the Kalisari area and the follow-up report via the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app, which was suspected to involve artificial intelligence (AI), the location is now clear. Based on observations by Kompas.com on Monday night (6/4/2026), no cars were seen parked on the roadside in that area. The road situation was also relatively quiet, with only occasional two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles passing through Jalan Damai, Kalisari, East Jakarta. The Head of the Pasar Rebo Sub-District Transportation Executive Unit, Basuki, stated that the four cars previously reported had been moved by their owners. Two cars were moved by the workshop owner into the garage, while the other two were relocated by the vehicle owners to other locations. He added that the road segment is a narrow residential street, so parked vehicles can disrupt traffic flow. “The location is a very narrow residential road. If there are parked vehicles, it will disturb other vehicles,” said Basuki. The owner of the Threads account @seinsh mentioned that residents had reported the issue up to the sub-district level. Reports were also submitted via the JAKI app, but they were said not to be resolved. “How to handle illegal parking issues on sub-district roads? Residents protested directly to the perpetrators without success, reported to the sub-district level without resolution, tried reporting via JAKI and got a fake proof edited with AI,” she wrote in the post.
