The Bogor City Transportation Department (Dishub) has discovered a new modus operandi for distributing vegetables to street vendors (PKL) in the Bogor Market area after trucks carrying the commodities were banned from entering the site.

Vegetables, which were previously unloaded directly inside the market, are now dropped off on nearby roads and then transferred using motorbikes and rickshaws to still reach the Bogor Market area.

Head of the Transportation Division of Bogor City Dishub, Dody Wahyudin, explained that the loading and unloading of vegetable commodities takes place before entering the Bogor Market area, such as on Jalan Otista and Empang.

“They unload at Otista, near the pharmacy, the Warbo, the Bogor stall after the Otista Bridge. Then it’s transferred to motorbikes, transported by motorbike into the area, some use motorbikes, some use rickshaws,” said Dody when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (9/4/2026).

He stated that the carriers of the vegetable commodities then enter the Bogor Market area by shouldering the loads and walking from around Bogor Trade Mall (BTM).

“Yes, so from the pick-up, it’s unloaded using motorbikes because we’ve blocked them, they can’t enter. They unload in front of BTM, the side entrance from the Empang direction. There, some shoulder it, carry it inside,” he added.

Dody conveyed that officers have turned back around 40 motorbikes carrying vegetable commodities heading to the Bogor Market since Tuesday night until Thursday morning.

He added that there are still some PKL selling items like corn or vegetables, though the numbers are not as significant as before.

Realising this, he continued, Bogor City Dishub has banned the transportation of vegetable commodities using motorbikes or by carrying them on foot into the Bogor Market.

After issuing the ban directly, Dody suspects that the commodity carriers are turning back towards Sempur to wait for the officers to be off guard.

“Actually, they’re waiting for the officers to be lax, sometimes when the officers are not paying attention, they speed in slowly. We’ve chased some of them too, told them to turn back,” Dody emphasised.

Previously, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim banned drivers of vegetable and fruit commodity transport from loading and unloading at the Bogor Market. Distribution has been redirected to two locations, namely Pasar Gembrong in Sukasari and Pasar Jambu Dua.

This information was provided before Thursday (26/3/2026). After that date, vegetable commodity transport is prohibited from entering the Bogor Market area.

Several roads commonly used by PKL for trading have also become the focus of enforcement, namely Jalan Roda, Jalan Lawang Seketeng, Jalan Pedati, and Jalan Bata.

“So supplies can no longer be dropped in the Bogor Market area. Everything in accordance with the commitment between the market traders who have now moved to Jambu 2 and Pasar Sukasari, they all must vacate the Bogor Market area,” said Dedie at Tugu Kujang, Bogor City, on Tuesday night (24/3/2026).

“What we will definitely do is provide some socialisation as well as guidance. Guiding means no longer to the Bogor Market area,” he continued.
