Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Jeffrey Hendrik, stated that the decision by international rating agency S&P Global Ratings to maintain Indonesia’s credit rating at BBB with a stable outlook is a breath of fresh air to reduce the impact of global economic uncertainty.

This assessment also reinforces that the fundamental conditions of the economy and market in Indonesia remain strong. “This provides a positive impact to reduce uncertainty,” Jeffrey said at the Investment Forum 2026, Wednesday (15/7/2026).

Jeffrey noted that there have been many negative sentiments recently, both from internal and external sources. He hopes that with the rating from S&P, investors can measure investment risk. Furthermore, he hopes that other global index providers will follow suit in providing positive reports on Indonesia’s condition. “I think that is something good and will continue, and we hope that other rating agencies and global index providers will follow,” he concluded.
