After riots, Banda Aceh once again adorned with red and white

Following riots in the area of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh during the Aceh Peace Day commemoration on 15 August 2026, hundreds of TNI personnel together with the Banda Aceh city government have reinstalled the red and white flag. Chief of Staff of Military District Command 0101 Banda Aceh, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Muhsin, said on 16 August that conditions in the city have returned to normal and the situation continues to be monitored to maintain security during the series of independence celebrations.
