After Retirement from Constitutional Court Judge, Anwar Usman Affirms Readiness to Take on New Duties

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Anwar Usman has stated his readiness to accept new duties or trusts after officially retiring as a Constitutional Court (MK) judge. He affirmed that after serving for 15 years at the MK, every role he undertakes is a form of trust that must benefit society. “My life is guided by the principle of khairunnas anfa’uhum linnas. The best of people are those most beneficial to others. So as long as I live, whatever it is, I will carry it out,” said Anwar. He stressed that the service he provides is not for seeking popularity. “But certainly, whatever and wherever I am assigned, my intention is not to seek popularity,” he said. “I work with one intention: worship. Truly, my life and death are for Allah alone,” he added. Regarding several offers after retirement, Anwar chose not to reveal them in detail. “That’s enough for me alone,” he said.
