Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has confirmed that he has provided full access to law enforcement authorities to conduct searches across the entire ministry premises. This step was taken after he first sought permission from President Prabowo.

He described the decision as a demonstration of transparency and commitment to not obstructing the ongoing legal process.

“I then reported to the President and told him, ‘Sir, I request permission to grant access to all investigators for any department,’” Dody stated.

According to him, Prabowo immediately supported the action. This simultaneously alleviated the investigators’ hesitations about entering ministry areas, including the minister’s office.

“He supported it and immediately granted permission,” he said.

Dody emphasised that the searches are not limited to one location but encompass the entire building within the Public Works Ministry. This openness is crucial to avoid any impression of differential treatment towards certain units.

Additionally, he expressed readiness to take responsibility if violations are later found.

“If indeed I am at fault, then I am at fault. One must be prepared,” he remarked.

He also acknowledged that investigators were initially cautious about entering the minister’s room, thus requiring special permission from the President.

Dody added that he deliberately kept his distance from the investigation details to avoid conflicts of interest.

“I deliberately did not want to ask for details because I consider it to be in the domain of law enforcement authorities,” he said.

He further affirmed that the entire process is now fully handed over to law enforcement authorities for follow-up.

“Let it be; this is law enforcement, so let the law enforcement colleagues handle all of this,” he said.
