After Repeated Delays, Awkarin Finally Questioned in Hanania Travel Fraud Case

Jakarta – Polda Metro Jaya has examined celebrity influencer Karin Novilda, known as Awkarin, as a witness in the fraud case involving umrah travel agency Hanania Travel. Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the examination was finally able to be conducted after being postponed several times. “Indeed, the influencer witness Awkarin was summoned and scheduled by the individual for several summonses, the schedule was rescheduled, and today,” Budi Hermanto told the media on Monday, 29 June 2026. Previously, Awkarin was scheduled for examination on Monday, 15 June 2026, before requesting a rescheduling. She arrived at Polda Metro Jaya at around 16.30 WIB, and the examination is still ongoing. “We will update you on several questions, until when this examination process will take place,” he said. A number of other influencers have also been examined by Polda Metro Jaya in connection with the Hanania Travel umrah travel fraud case. These names include Keanu Angelo, comedian Praz Teguh, Paula Verhoeven, the couple Aaliyah Massaid and Thariq Halilintar, Dara Arafah, and Davina Karamoy. Polda Metro Jaya has named the boss of Hanania Travel, Ahmad Syah Farhan or ASF, as a suspect, charged with alleged fraud and/or embezzlement and/or money laundering. The charges are as referred to in Article 492 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 607 of the Criminal Code.
