After Receiving Award, Trade Minister Says Villages Must Become National Export Engines

Trade Minister Budi Santoso received an award at the detikBali-Nusra Awards 2026 at The Trans Resort Bali, Badung, on Friday (3/7/2026). Budi Santoso was honoured with the Accelerator Figure Award in the Independent Village Economic Transformation Driver category. The trophy was presented by CT Corp Chairman Chairul Tanjung. In his speech, Budi expressed gratitude for the award given by detikcom, dedicating it to communities in villages across Indonesia. Budi said the government, together with the Ministry of Trade, continues to build collaboration with various parties, including the private sector, regarding product exports abroad. “In 2025 in Jembrana, we launched a village programme in cooperation with a village cooperative that can export and become a motor for national exports. One example is chocolate exports that have already gone international,” Budi stated. In addition to opening market access, the Ministry of Trade also provides mentoring and training to village business actors, particularly regarding product standardisation so they can compete in the global market. “We hope this programme for local businesses can penetrate the global market. Exports are not only for cities and large enterprises, but also for villages and small ones. Now is the time for village transformation to go international,” Budi concluded.
