Jakarta (ANTARA) - The legal counsel of former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, Febri Diansyah, said the legal team would soon meet with their client to discuss and consider the next steps following the pre-trial hearing.

“After this pre-trial, there are of course legal processes still ongoing. So, we will discuss those further,” said Febri in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Previously, Febrie Adriansyah filed two pre-trial petitions at the South Jakarta District Court.

The first petition, numbered 134/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL, concerned the legality of forced seizure measures. The respondents were the Metro Jaya Regional Police, the Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police, and the Attorney General’s Office.

Regarding that first petition, the sole pre-trial judge at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (27/8) read out the ruling and rejected Febrie Adriansyah’s claim.

Furthermore, the second petition, numbered 135/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL, concerned the legality of the implementation of forced measures in naming a suspect. The respondent was the Attorney General cq the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office.

The pre-trial ruling hearing is scheduled to be held on Friday afternoon.

He said the legal team would study in detail the considerations and rulings that the judge had delivered openly.

The legal team, Febri said, had a number of notes regarding the considerations delivered by the judge.

“Our hope from the beginning when this pre-trial process was filed was to be able to correct, straighten out, or conduct a thorough evaluation if there are problems in the handling of criminal cases,” he said.

He added that evaluation is important so that the same problems do not recur for other parties, related to the failure to fulfil the precautionary principle in case handling or hasty handling and the like.

“So, this is a continuous effort that we need to make to jointly safeguard this legal process so that the criminal justice process truly respects the principles of due process of law and so that there are no practices of abuse against people or citizens handled by law enforcement institutions,” said Febri.

He also quoted the principle of Febrie Adriansyah, who has 30 years of experience as a law enforcer, namely placing the law as a means to seek the truth.

“He continues to respect the legal process and places the law as a means or path to find the truth and together to achieve justice for the parties involved throughout the process,” he said.
