Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono, together with senior officials and police personnel, directly participated in cleaning up rubbish around the demonstration site in the Thamrin area of Central Jakarta on Friday evening. Carrying bin bags, the deputy chief and his team picked up plastic bottles, cardboard, and other litter scattered across the road. This simple yet meaningful action was taken to ensure the public space was clean again after activities by students and the community had concluded.

Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the activity was a tangible demonstration of the police force’s concern for the environment and the public. According to him, the presence of the police is not only to ensure that activities proceed safely and orderly, but also to help maintain order and cleanliness in public spaces.

“After providing service for the expression of opinions by students and the community, the Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police, together with senior officials and personnel, directly cleaned the area around the location. This is a form of care and shared responsibility to ensure public facilities are clean, orderly, and comfortable for the community to use again,” said Budi.

He added that the clean-up action also serves as a moral message that safeguarding Jakarta is not solely about security, but also about environmental awareness. “Keeping Jakarta safe, orderly, clean, and comfortable is our shared responsibility. We invite the community to participate in maintaining cleanliness and looking after public facilities,” he said.

Commissioner Budi also expressed appreciation to all personnel who carried out their service duties humanely and continued to show care after the event concluded. “Thank you to all personnel who have served with full responsibility. The spirit of serving the community must continue to be demonstrated, both in facilitating public activities and in acts of care like this,” he concluded.
