After Meeting PM Sanae in Tokyo, Prabowo Heads to South Korea

President Prabowo Subianto has conducted an official visit to meet Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo. Prabowo is now departing for South Korea to continue the trip.

detikcom observations on Tuesday (31/3/2026) show that Prabowo arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo at 16:47 local time. Rain and strong winds battered the airport apron.

The presidential aircraft PK GIF was spotted on the apron. Prabowo and a limited entourage then boarded the aircraft via the stairs.

Several cabinet members accompanying Prabowo’s activities included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Teddy previously stated that President Prabowo is continuing his visit to Seoul, South Korea. This series of visits is expected to form part of Indonesia’s active diplomacy in strengthening its strategic position in the East Asia region.

“After completing the series of visits in Japan, President Prabowo and his entourage are scheduled to continue their journey to the Republic of Korea to carry out the next visit,” said Teddy on Sunday (29/3).
