After Meeting Gibran, Rismon Sianipar Receives Large Parcel from the Palace
Jakarta—Researcher and author Rismon Sianipar took home a large parcel after meeting Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 12 March 2026.
The parcel was given by Vice President Gibran as Rismon was leaving the Vice Presidential Palace following an audience regarding the controversy surrounding allegations concerning the academic credentials of Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Rismon received a large parcel containing various snacks and household items. The parcel was so substantial that it had to be carried with his lawyer, Jahmada Girsang.
Rismon stated that he was received warmly during the meeting with Vice President Gibran. He noted that the Jokowi family was open to the research and corrections he had submitted.
“Thank you. For the Vice President’s family, research can be mistaken. But it should not be made to be wrong,” he said.
Rismon also expressed surprise at receiving the parcel as he was leaving the meeting.
After leaving Jakarta, Rismon stated that he would return to his hometown in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra. He plans to continue writing a book containing the results of his latest research regarding the Jokowi credentials controversy.
According to him, writing in his hometown will allow him to focus better than working in Jakarta.
“I will write it in my hometown, in Siantar,” he said.
He is targeting completion of the book within approximately one year. The book will subsequently contain a comprehensive explanation of his research into Jokowi’s academic credentials documents.
