Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, a suspect in a case alleging fraudulent diploma claims against Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo, has invited Roy Suryo, Dr Tifa and colleagues to hold an open discussion to prove that Jokowi’s bachelor’s degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is genuine.

He made this announcement after meeting Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice President’s Office in Jakarta on Friday (13 March).

“I invite Mr Roy Suryo and others—come, let’s openly invite journalists. I will demonstrate my methodology: how lighting at a certain angle can eliminate certain colours that are chromatically or integer-value close to other colours,” Rismon said.

He stated that his latest research findings demonstrate Jokowi’s diploma is authentic. Rismon also said he would rather be insulted as a traitor than conceal falsehoods.

He expressed his readiness to prove to Roy Suryo and colleagues, who had previously worked with him on this case, that Jokowi’s diploma is genuine.

“A researcher’s accountability should be open to new findings; don’t immediately dismiss it as betrayal or cowardice. If that’s the case, I can think that you have other motives,” he said.

Rismon also noted that he is currently writing up his latest research findings. He stated he would soon publish a book with his research results once it is completed.

“Finishing the book will take approximately one year, between six months to a year. Hopefully faster,” he said.

Rismon is among the suspects in the case alleging forged diploma charges against Jokowi at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. Along with Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Dr Tifa), he claimed Jokowi’s diploma was fake based on their scientific research, documented in the book Jokowi’s White Paper.

Most recently, Rismon apologised for this. Rismon filed for restorative justice with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

He stated there are no irregularities in the bachelor’s degree held by Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Rismon said he had conducted further research. The supplementary research concluded there are no irregularities in Jokowi’s diploma.

“There is no digital manipulation as I concluded in the book Jokowi’s White Paper. What does that mean? Its authenticity is preserved,” Rismon said after being received by Jokowi at his residence in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday (12 March).
