PERTAMINA Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi has confirmed that the distribution of energy, both fuel and LPG, in Central Sulawesi is operating normally and smoothly after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the province on Tuesday (16/6). Sales Branch Manager for Central Sulawesi I Fuel, Made Bilan Asasia, stated that based on field monitoring, all public filling stations (SPBU) and other official distribution agencies continue to provide services to the community. “Based on our monitoring, all SPBU and fuel distribution agencies are continuing their services. So far, there have been no reports of damage or operational disruptions affecting energy distribution,” Made said in a written statement from Palu. Pertamina has assured that fuel and LPG stocks in Central Sulawesi are sufficient to meet the daily needs of the public. The distribution process from fuel terminals and LPG facilities reportedly faced no technical issues as a result of the earthquake tremors. As a mitigation measure, Pertamina has instructed all distribution agency managers to coordinate intensively with the Regional Government and relevant agencies to anticipate the impact of potential aftershocks. Pertamina has asked residents of Central Sulawesi to remain calm and not to engage in panic buying. The public is urged to purchase energy products according to their needs so that distribution remains optimal for all levels of society. Area Manager Communication, Relation & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Lilik Hardiyanto, added that the safety of the public, workers, and partners is the top priority in this emergency situation. “We continue to monitor developments together with relevant agencies and ensure operational readiness is maintained. All distribution agencies are asked to increase vigilance and discipline in implementing safety procedures,” said Lilik. For members of the public who need further information about energy services or wish to report distribution issues, they can contact the Pertamina Contact Centre (PCC) 135, which operates 24 hours a day. Pertamina also encourages the public to always refer to official information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) regarding seismic conditions in the Central Sulawesi region.
