After Lampung, Jokowi to Tour Central Java in Mid-July
The 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokew), is set to continue his political safari to Central Java Province following his field visits to Lampung in late June.
Jokowi will undertake this agenda alongside the party led by his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, namely the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). According to the plan, Jokowi will visit several areas in Central Java this month.
This news was conveyed by the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of PSI Central Java, Antonius Yogo, after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Sumber, Solo, Central Java, on Friday (3/7).
“Hopefully, by mid-July, this can already be underway,” said Yogo.
The former Chairman of the PSI Solo Regional Leadership Council stated that his party is continuously preparing the series of events for Jokowi’s visits in Central Java. He could not yet confirm exactly when and where Jokowi would visit.
“We are immediately awaiting the schedule from Mr Jokowi regarding the dates. What is clear is that our task today is to prepare for his descent, to ensure he travels around Central Java to ensure that Central Java truly remains the ‘Elephant’s Den’ [a stronghold],” he said.
Furthermore, Yogo ensured that the PSI Central Java DPW is ready to welcome Jokowi’s arrival in any regency or city. Yogo claimed that the PSI management structure in Central Java is almost fully formed, from the provincial level down to the sub-district or village level across 35 regencies/cities.
“We are complete. The management structure down to the sub-district level is also ready. We will simply follow the schedule and the locations chosen by him for his tour,” said Yogo.
Some time ago, Jokowi expressed his readiness to travel across Indonesia to assist PSI. The father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka began his political safari in late June with visits to several regencies/cities in Lampung Province from 28-30 June.
During those three days, Jokowi attended the Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) of the PSI Bandar Lampung City DPD. Additionally, Jokowi attended several events with the community in Lampung.
