President Joko Widodo, Indonesia’s 7th president, will continue his political safari to Central Java Province after visiting Lampung at the end of June. This agenda is being undertaken by Jokowi alongside the party led by his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). According to the plan, Jokowi will visit several areas in Central Java this month. The news was conveyed by the Chairman of the PSI Central Java Regional Leadership Council, Antonius Yogo, after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Sumber, Solo, Central Java, on Friday (3/7). ‘Hopefully, by mid-July, it can proceed,’ said Yogo. The former Chairman of the Solo PSI Branch Executive Board said that his party is continuing to prepare a series of events for Jokowi’s visit to Central Java. He could not yet confirm when and where Jokowi will visit. ‘We are waiting for Mr Jokowi’s schedule for the date. Our clear task today is to prepare for him to go down, for him to tour Central Java to ensure that Central Java truly is a stronghold,’ he stated. Furthermore, Yogo confirmed that the PSI Central Java Regional Leadership Council is ready to welcome Jokowi’s arrival in any regency or city. Yogo claimed that the PSI management structure in Central Java is almost fully formed from the provincial level down to the sub-district or village level across 35 regencies and cities. ‘We are complete. The management structure down to the village level is also ready. We just need to follow the schedule and the points that will be chosen by him for the tour,’ said Yogo. Some time ago, Jokowi stated he was ready to travel around Indonesia to help PSI. The father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka began his political safari at the end of June by visiting several regencies and cities in Lampung Province from 28-30 June. During those three days, Jokowi attended the Regional Working Meeting of the Bandar Lampung City PSI Branch Executive Board. In addition, Jokowi also attended a number of events with the community in Lampung.
