After failing last year, Palembang resident finally gets ticket to independence ceremony
Yuniartika Permata Sari (24) has finally succeeded in her efforts to obtain a ticket for the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence Seconds Ceremony. After failing to get an invitation last year, this year she was willing to fly directly from Palembang to attend the ceremony.
Yuniartika admitted she was very happy to get the ticket she had long awaited. Until now, she said she could only watch the ceremony on television, but this year her dream came true.
“I came straight from Palembang to here. I tried many times in the ticket war before I got it this year,” said Yuniartika in the Merdeka Palace area, Jakarta, on Monday.
She said she arrived in Jakarta on Thursday (13/8). Yuniartika came with her family by car from Palembang. However, she noted that she was the only one who received an invitation to the ceremony.
Yuniartika’s preparations were no small matter. She deliberately bought a complete set of traditional clothing and brought it directly from Palembang.
According to her, the opportunity to attend the flag ceremony at Merdeka Palace may not come twice, so it had to be prepared for as thoroughly as possible.
“I got ready from 01.00 WIB, woke up at 01.00, started makeup at 02.00, and was on the way at 03.30,” she explained.
On the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Yuniartika hopes Indonesia will become more advanced. She also did not forget to pray that disasters in Indonesia could be reduced.
“My hope is that Indonesia will become more advanced. I hope many underprivileged people can be helped. Also, more job opportunities. And may natural disasters also decrease,” she said.
