The legal counsel for National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Deputy Chief Sony Sanjaya, Krisna Murti, has revealed alleged irregularities in the procurement of surveillance cameras (CCTV) and fingerprint systems at Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). The procurement is said to be worth more than Rp 300 billion. The statement was made by Krisna after accompanying Sony during his examination as a suspect at the Round Building of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Attorney General’s Office, on Thursday (18/6/2026). According to Krisna, the project had commenced before Sony assumed his position at BGN. The procurement was carried out through a third party to install CCTV and fingerprint devices at approximately 5,000 SPPGs, which implement the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG). “Before Mr. Sony joined, there was a procurement contract for CCTV with fingerprint systems. Five CCTVs were installed per SPPG. The procurement was conducted through outsourcing to a vendor with a total value of around more than Rp 300 billion,” Krisna said. He explained that the contract ended on 19 February 2026. As the contract neared its end, Sony reportedly summoned the vendor to verify the execution of the work. According to Krisna, Sony asked the vendor to show one of the CCTV and fingerprint system installation points, including an example at a state primary school in East Jakarta. However, he said, the vendor could not show the intended installation location. “When asked to show the points that had been installed, they could not show them. They could not answer where the CCTVs had been installed,” Krisna stated. Based on the verification results, he continued, a suspicion arose that the procurement, which had been paid for by the state, was not realised as it should have been. “This means BGN has already disbursed more than Rp 300 billion, but when verified, the results of the work could not be shown,” Krisna said. When asked whether this condition indicated a fictitious project, Krisna said the term used by Sony was “total loss”. “According to Mr. Sony, it is a total loss. That means it could be said to be fictitious,” he remarked.
