After Eid Prayer, Prabowo Mingles with Congregation at Darussalam Mosque, Locals Scramble to Shake Hands

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto chatted with residents of Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, at Darussalam Mosque, Simpang Village, Karang Baru, Aceh, on Saturday morning (21/3/2026). Observations from the Cabinet Secretariat’s YouTube showed Prabowo shaking hands with residents who had queued to meet the Head of State after performing Eid prayers at the same mosque. Accompanied by Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, Prabowo greeted residents one by one, including mothers, fathers, and children. Some residents also invited the President of the Republic of Indonesia to take photos together. Prabowo then continued to tour and greet Aceh residents outside the mosque. The residents were very enthusiastic to see President Prabowo. “Father, Sir, Sir!” said several residents while extending their hands to shake Prabowo’s. One resident also expressed a desire to attend Sekolah Garuda. “Sir, I want to go to school at Sekolah Garuda,” said another resident. Prabowo performed Eid prayers wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and a black peci. During this visit to Aceh, Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and several other ministers, namely Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.
