After Discovery of Hundreds of Firearms, Foundation's Legal Counsel Urges Police to Open Bunker at Private School in Jakarta

The legal team of a private school foundation in the Pondok Pinang area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, has asked the police to open a bunker room that has not yet been accessed and is suspected of containing dangerous items at the school. The request follows the discovery of 995 firearms, bullet-making equipment, pornographic VCDs and drugs in a closed room at the school.

“We ask for their seriousness and immediate action, because there is still a room that we have not been able to open. We hope that the room, which is shaped like a bunker, will be followed up immediately by the police to be opened,” said the foundation’s legal counsel, Hermawanto, at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday (6/8/2026).

Hermawanto said the bunker is known to be located in a hidden underground room. He also expressed hope that no firearms or dangerous items would be found in the bunker.

“We hope that no more weapons can be found there,” he said.

Previously, 995 firearms, pornographic VCDs and drugs were found in a closed room at a private school in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

In July, specifically on Friday (10/7/2026), the foundation’s legal counsel discovered 995 firearms, ammunition and several other weapon accessories. Then, on Wednesday (5/8/2026), the team again found several weapons, marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as pornographic VCDs. The team eventually decided to contact the South Jakarta Metro Police.

The South Jakarta Metro Police confirmed the discovery of a number of firearms and airsoft guns in one of the rooms of the private school foundation in the Pondok Pinang area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The police received a report from the public regarding the discovery on 15 July 2026.

Investigators had previously prepared a Police Report Model A as the basis for initial handling after learning of the discovery. In addition, the preparation of the Police Report Model A was also carried out as the basis for initial handling before the investigation process proceeds further.
