After Breaking Fast, Prabowo and Islamic Organisation Leaders Continue Discussion on Geopolitical Issues
President Prabowo Subianto broke his fast with Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Achyar, Muhammadiyah Secretary General Prof. Haedar Nasir, and Majelis Ulama Indonesia Chairman KH Anwar Iskandar at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on the evening of Thursday, 5 March 2026, according to the Secretary to the Cabinet (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya. He and the leaders of Islamic organisations used the moment to discuss a range of current issues, including preparations for Lebaran holidays nationwide and developments in global geopolitical dynamics that are drawing international attention. ‘During the iftar, President Prabowo spoke and discussed the preparations for Lebaran holidays in the country, while also discussing the dynamics of world geopolitics,’ Teddy said. It was noted that Prabowo invited ulama and leaders of Islamic organisations to the Istana for a silaturahmi and iftar gathering. A total of 170 ulama and habaib were invited to the Istana. Anwar Iskandar said upon arrival at the Istana, ‘Agenda is a shared iftar. With Pak Nusron, yes later all general chairs of Islamic organisations, along with mubalig and heads of pesantren, those pesantren large and with broad networks.’
