After Attending May Day, Prabowo Distributes T-Shirts to Workers

President Prabowo Subianto attended the International Labour Day (May Day) commemoration at Monas in Central Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026). During the event, Prabowo gave a speech promising several policies favourable to workers, one of which is childcare facilities or daycare. “It was mentioned earlier that workers need childcare places, daycare. This is a good suggestion. We will fight for this,” said Prabowo in front of the workers. Kompas.com observations showed that after his speech, Prabowo embraced several union leaders who were also standing on the stage, including Jumhur Hidayat, who was recently appointed as Minister of Environment (LH). He then unbuttoned his safari shirt and threw it to the workers participating in the May Day commemoration. Several shirts still wrapped in light blue were distributed by Prabowo as the vehicle continued moving, clearing a path through the crowd of attending workers.
