After Attending ASEAN Summit in Philippines, Prabowo Immediately Visits Miangas

detikcom observations indicate that Prabowo landed at Miangas Airport on Saturday (9/5/2026) at 10.45 WITA. During the flight, Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Several ministers welcomed Prabowo’s arrival, including Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Communication and Digitalisation Meutya Hafid, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita. Afterwards, Prabowo briefly greeted the residents who welcomed him at the airport. Prabowo then entered a Maung Garuda vehicle to visit SMK Negeri 2 Talaud to meet with Miangas residents. Miangas Village is Indonesia’s outermost territory located in the Special District of Miangas, Kepulauan Talaud Regency. The village has a population of 823 people spread across 232 households. Miangas has a unique status because the district contains only one village, hence it is called the Special District of Miangas. With an area of around 3.5 square kilometres, Miangas is one of Indonesia’s small outer islands with a strategic position at the national border. Prabowo’s visit to Miangas serves as a symbol of the state’s presence at Indonesia’s farthest point.
