After Alcohol Party, Drunk Student Claims He Did Not Feel Hitting Aiptu Asep in Fatal Crash

A university student identified only as A (20) has been named a suspect in a hit-and-run case that killed Aiptu Asep Suhara. A, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, claimed he did not feel hitting Asep.

During a press conference at Bandung Police Headquarters on Tuesday (11/8/2026), A was presented alongside two passengers of the Honda Civic he was driving. The two passengers are known to be members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

The fifth-semester informatics student admitted to being under the influence of alcohol, as were his two friends who were passengers. The three had held a drinking party at a café in the Simpang Lima area of Bandung.

“That is correct, drunk. All three of them were drunk, sir,” A said while speaking with West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi.

When Dedi Mulyadi asked about their purpose for driving that night, A said they were looking for cigarettes. Regarding the exact time of the traffic accident, A admitted he did not pay attention to the clock.

He even stated he was not aware of having hit the victim. “I did not see, sir. I did not brake, sir. I did not feel (hitting), sir,” he said.
