After Ad Hoc Judges, Ahmad Sahroni Hopes Prabowo Will Address Prosecutors' Welfare
Jakarta - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Ahmad Sahroni has called on President Prabowo Subianto to ensure equitable welfare for law enforcement apparatus (APH), particularly within the prosecutor’s office. Sahroni assessed that welfare improvements should not only be provided to ad hoc judges but also to other law enforcement officers, especially prosecutors serving in remote areas. “Regarding the prosecutor’s APH, I request the President’s attention, particularly for remote areas to receive adequate welfare,” said Sahroni when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (5/5/2026). The Nasdem politician hopes that such allowance increases will be accompanied by improved performance from judges and the quality of court decisions in handling cases. “Alhamdulillah, it has been fulfilled; I am very proud of the President for addressing the welfare of ad hoc judges. May the judges work even better and more professionally,” he concluded. Previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto officially increased allowances for ad hoc judges through Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2026 on the Financial Rights and Facilities of Ad Hoc Judges, signed on 4 May 2026. The regulation stipulates that ad hoc judges receive various monthly financial rights and facilities, including allowances, state housing, transportation facilities, health insurance, security guarantees, travel expense allowances, and appreciation payments. If such facilities are not yet available, the government may provide housing and transportation allowances according to the state’s financial capacity. The regulation also provides for appreciation payments at the end of the term, equivalent to twice the received allowance. The amount of allowances for ad hoc judges has seen a significant increase. For the first instance level, such as in corruption, industrial relations, fisheries, human rights, and commercial courts, the allowance is set at Rp 49,300,000. Meanwhile, for the appeal level, it reaches Rp 62,500,000. For the cassation level, ad hoc judges receive an allowance of Rp 105,270,000.
