After a Year of Damage, New Route for Saleh Danasasmita Road in Bogor Finally Under Construction
BOGOR, KOMPAS.com - Jalan Saleh Danasasmita in Batutulis, Bogor City, which suffered landslides, began repairs on Wednesday (13/5/2026). According to the Work Commencement Order (SPMK), the construction of the new route is targeted for completion by the end of October 2026. “Yes (the target completion) is at the end of October 2026. This (work) is 163 calendar days,” said Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim in Bogor City on Wednesday. “The work items consist of construction, including cliff reinforcement and a pedestrian path,” he added. Meanwhile, Andi Nugroho, Head of the Regional Technical Management Unit (UPTD) for Roads and Bridges in Handling Area I of the West Java Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, explained that the new route for Jalan Saleh Danasasmita is approximately 300 metres long and eight metres wide. In the future, the road will be made two-way for vehicles passing through the new route of Jalan Saleh Danasasmita. At the end of the new route of Jalan Saleh Danasasmita, there is a cliff that will be excavated to create a level road. “It will be excavated and lowered. It has to penetrate the obstruction below; there will be treatment, so we will use sheet piles to make it level,” he said. It is known that Jalan Saleh Danasasmita was closed due to subsidence since early March 2025. Shortly afterwards, the Bogor City Government created a new access on Jalan Saleh Danasasmita. However, the road commonly used by motorcyclists is now threatened with landslides. The road was then closed since January 2026, causing complaints from drivers who had to take excessively long detours.
