Following a fire near SMAN 112 Jakarta in March 2023, a former student and entrepreneur, Agung Budhy Hambaka, who owns Grande fire extinguishers through CV Agung Jaya Sejahtera and PT Grande Sejahtera Indonesia, initiated a donation programme for his alma mater. The informal ceremony took place at SMAN 112 Jakarta, Jl. Pesanggrahan No. 2, Meruya Utara, Kembangan, Jakarta Barat, on Monday, 18 May 2026. The donation comprises 30 Grande APAR units, renovations to religious facilities, and financial support to students, including scholarships and other improvements to the school’s infrastructure.

Head of SMAN 112 Jakarta, Sukarman, said the alumni support had been ongoing for about five months. “We have received assistance from an alumnus from the class of 2004, Mr. Agung Budhy Hambaka. He has helped us for roughly the last five months. The support includes painting the field, supplying Grande APARs, and most recently completing renovations to the mosque canopy covering about 210 square metres,” he said.

Sukarman praised the alumni’s commitment to the school, noting that all works were carried out with his involvement. “All activities were fully supported by him. We are grateful for his care for the school,” he added.

According to Sukarman, Grande APARs are particularly important given Jakarta’s fire risk. “APAR Grande is much needed. Jakarta is a fire-prone area; in 2023, a fire affected the area near SMAN 112 as well, touching the school’s walls,” he recalled. He viewed the assistance as beneficial for improving the school’s preparedness. “Therefore, the Grande APAR assistance is timely and useful,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Agung Budhy Hambaka said the APARs would be installed at multiple locations around the school to enhance safety in the learning environment. “Coincidentally, I am a Grande APAR manufacturer through my companies CV Agung Jaya Sejahtera and PT Grande Sejahtera Indonesia. I feel that providing Grande APARs is highly suitable for this school,” he noted. “We then installed Grande APARs at various points around the campus.” In addition to installing APARs, Agung also oversaw the painting of the school field. He had considered building a padel court, but abandoned the idea due to the need for specialised construction.

During discussions with the Principal, Agung also agreed to renovate the AT-TADZKIR Mosque canopy to expand capacity for Friday prayers and to withstand weather. The canopy now serves not only as a place of worship but also as a potential area for school activities.

The mosque canopy renovation was seen as meeting a long‑standing need for a larger space for worship and religious activities among students and the school community. In addition to the school facilities, Agung provided financial assistance to orphans and to high‑achieving students within the school. He also planned to support a drone facility for students after noting there is a photography school at SMAN 112 Jakarta. “Because I enjoy drones, I decided to provide a drone to students to help develop soft skills and future job prospects,” he said.

Agung emphasised that all of the aid was a personal gesture of gratitude to his alma mater, particularly to the former principal, Mutia, and to current Principal Sukarman. Grande APAR is among Indonesia’s fire‑protection products, producing a range of fire extinguishers and automatic extinguishing systems, and is certified to SNI and ISO 9001:2015.

The alumni’s involvement through this social programme is now part of an effort to strengthen ties between graduates and the school, while enhancing education facilities available to the community. The aid aligns with the Directorate General of Road Transport (Hubdar) Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. KP.972/AJ.502/DRJD/2020, which governs APAR provision. All APAR units have been delivered to the school, with the remaining works completed according to schedule.
