After a Decade of Waiting, Bogor Village Receives 'Presisi' Prayer Room from National Police Chief

Residents of Kampung Pasir, Cibadak Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency, West Java, finally have a place of worship again after a 10-year wait since their previous prayer room collapsed in 2016. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo provided assistance to rebuild the facility, named ‘Mushola Presisi’, through a synergy with the Indonesian Police Lovers Society. The 56-square-metre Mushola Presisi was built on a 40-square-metre plot of donated land from the late Misra (83). The location is in a residential area classified as an Underdeveloped Region. The symbolic groundbreaking and foundation laying were witnessed by the head of the local neighbourhood unit, the prayer room’s imam, and the village head on Monday. The imam, who is also the grandson of the land donor, expressed his emotion and gratitude for the police leadership’s concern for residents in remote mountainous areas. For the past decade, residents had to walk a considerable distance to another village whenever they wanted to worship, including for congregational Tarawih prayers during Ramadan. He conveyed his deep appreciation to the National Police Chief for providing religious infrastructure to communities in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions. The construction of the Mushola Presisi is part of a series of ongoing social actions carried out by the National Police together with elements of the police-loving community. In addition to providing places of worship in remote areas, the police’s humanitarian mission programme also includes sending people on free Umrah pilgrimages, renovating uninhabitable houses, and organising Holyland pilgrimages for those in need.
