After a Decade, Kampung Pasir Residents Finally Have a Musholla Again for Tarawih Prayers

Residents of Kampung Pasir in Bogor will finally have a place of worship in their own village after a decade of having to travel elsewhere for congregational prayers, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. The construction of a new musholla, named Musholla Presisi, has commenced after the previous one collapsed in 2016 and was deemed unusable.

The rebuilding of the prayer house was facilitated by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, through the Masyarakat Pecinta Polisi Indonesia (Indonesian Police Lovers Society). The new musholla is being built on a 40-square-metre plot of waqf land owned by the late Misra.

Muhammad Abdilah, the grandson of the land donor and the musholla’s imam, expressed his profound gratitude. “For 10 years we have been unable to perform Tarawih prayers in our own village. We had to walk far to other mosques,” he said during the groundbreaking ceremony. “This is an answer to our prayers.” The initiative is part of an ongoing social programme by the National Police, which has previously included facilitating free Umrah pilgrimages and renovating uninhabitable homes for underprivileged communities.
