After 4 Months on the Run, Assailant Who Beat Driver for Asking Roadblock to Be Opened Arrested
Police have arrested a man with the initials HS (30), a resident of Tangga Village, Monta District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). HS is a suspect in the mob attack on a motorist who asked for a roadblock to be opened.
“HS was arrested after four months on the wanted list (DPO) in an assault case,” said Bima Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, First Inspector Ghufron Subeki, on Sunday (16/8/2026).
Ghufron said HS was arrested without resistance in Tangga Village on Saturday (15/8/2026). HS is one of two wanted suspects in the joint assault case against Adnan.
“One of his associates, with the initials ARH, is still being pursued and has also been placed on the wanted list,” he said.
The assault took place on the Tente-Parado crossroad, specifically in Tangga Village, Monta District, Bima Regency, on Wednesday (4/4/2026). According to detikBali’s records, Adnan (30), a resident of Nata Village, Palibelo District, was beaten by a mob while on his way to Simpasai Village, Monta District.
While driving a four-wheeled vehicle, Adnan saw a crowd of residents blocking the road. The victim got out of his car and asked for the roadblock to be opened. However, the request was ignored. The mob instead attacked and struck Adnan repeatedly.
Objecting to being beaten and mobbed merely for asking that a public road be reopened, Adnan reported the incident to Bima Police.
