After 23 Hours, Tangerang PVC Pipe Warehouse Fire Finally Extinguished
Firefighters said a blaze at a PVC pipe warehouse in Legok, Tangerang regency, had been fully extinguished. No one was killed in the incident.
“Crews withdrew at around 3.30pm,” the Tangerang Regency BPBD fire service’s Pusdalops call centre said on Wednesday (14 October 2026).
The fire was brought under control at 1am, but smoke and several small hotspots remained. Eighteen fire engines were initially sent to the scene, but the number was reduced to two units on standby in the morning.
“Two units remained on standby for cooling operations,” the call centre said.
BPBD data showed there were no deaths or injuries. However, a firefighter was affected by smoke and was treated by an ambulance crew that had been on standby during the operation.
“There were no casualties,” Tangerang Regency BPBD said in a statement.
“A firefighter was exposed to smoke from the burning materials and received treatment from the Legok Community Health Centre ambulance unit,” it said.
The fire was caused by someone burning rubbish
According to Tangerang Regency BPBD, officials received a report at 4.33pm on Tuesday (13 October 2026). One pipe warehouse and three houses were affected.
“The buildings affected were the PT Mitra Bangun Abadi (Pipa One Plus) warehouse and three houses, which sustained minor damage to their kitchen areas,” BPBD said.
The fire reportedly started when a resident burned rubbish. The flames then spread to the warehouse grounds.
“An irresponsible resident burned rubbish behind a workshop near the PT Mitra Bangun Abadi pipe warehouse,” Tangerang Regency BPBD said.
The flames spread quickly to the warehouse. Residents then reported the fire to the fire service.
“A witness reported that the fire had spread rapidly to the rear of the PT Mitra Bangun Abadi pipe warehouse at 4.33pm,” it said.
