“After 20 years of operation, he has finally been caught,” said the Head of Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, Police Commissioner Arsya Khadafi, quoted by Antara on Sunday (12/4/2026). Arsya explained that Ki Bedil is known as an expert in making illegal firearms (senpi) of the revolver or pistol type. The majority of buyers are street crime perpetrators. “The buyers are mostly street crime actors and illegal hunters,” he added. Arsya stated that the arrest is part of the Indonesian National Police’s efforts to eradicate the circulation of illegal firearms that could disrupt public security and order. He explained that the arrest of Ki Bedil stemmed from an enforcement operation on Monday, 6 April 2026. The team then seized several pieces of evidence, including one SIG Sauer P226 pistol complete with magazine, one unfinished long-barrelled weapon sample, two .22 calibre bullets, as well as other items such as a black jacket and a fishing bag. Based on the initial examination of AS, according to him, the team then conducted further investigation by dividing personnel into two groups. The first team moved to the suspect’s residence in Rancaekek Kulon, Bandung Regency, West Java. At that location, police found various types of ammunition in considerable quantities, ranging from bullets of various calibres, projectiles, to equipment such as drill bits suspected to be used in the weapon manufacturing process.
