Afghanistan Says Its Territory Targeted by Pakistani Air Strikes
Kabul/Pakistan (ANTARA) - Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, via a post on the X platform on Monday morning, stated that eastern areas of Afghanistan bordering Pakistan were targeted by Pakistani airstrikes the previous night, resulting in casualties.
According to Mujahid, the Pakistani military launched airstrikes on the Gayan District in Paktika Province, the Tsamkani District in Paktia Province, and the Manogay District in Kunar Province.
He stated that the attacks caused dozens of civilian casualties, including women and children.
Mujahid also strongly condemned what he described as “cowardly acts of aggression,” calling them “crimes and brutal acts.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, said on Monday that 29 terrorists were killed after Pakistan launched ground operations and airstrikes against members of the illegal terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its splinter faction, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.
According to Tarar, the terrorists killed were involved in a number of recent terrorist activities targeting innocent civilians and Pakistani law enforcement officers.
