Afghanistan Ranks Lowest in 2026 Global Children's Rights Index
Afghanistan has been ranked last among 194 countries in the 2026 Global Children’s Rights Index, according to a report by local media outlet TOLOnews on Thursday (25/6). The report stated that Afghanistan placed 194th with an overall score of 0.214, making it the lowest-ranked nation in terms of protecting and promoting children’s rights. The situation of children’s rights in Afghanistan was described as extremely challenging, with deficiencies in several key areas affecting child welfare. The annual index evaluates countries based on a range of indicators, including children’s access to healthcare, education, protection, and a safe environment. Its aim is to assess how effectively nations uphold and protect the rights and well-being of children in accordance with international standards.
