Afghan Migrants Perish in Desert Near Iranian Border

At least five Afghan nationals have died and 14 others are feared dead after they went missing in the Dasht-e Margo desert in southern Afghanistan, according to a report by TOLOnews Plus. The group had set out days earlier but failed to reach the border and became lost in the vast expanse of sand in Nimruz province. Afghan military search teams, using helicopters, have been scouring the area, and footage from the search site reportedly showed several bodies lying partially buried among the sand dunes. According to Afghan media, more than three million Afghan migrants, both legal and illegal, currently reside in Iran.
