Affirmate Group Enters BOT Finance, Bumiputera Exits
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The business advisory services company PT Affirmate Bisnis Nusantara (ABN) has invested in PT BOT Finance Indonesia, a subsidiary of MUFG Finance & Leasing Co., Ltd. in Indonesia. The transaction was completed after receiving approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) at the end of January 2026.
This investment represents part of ABN’s commitment and strategy to build a sustainable business collaboration platform between Indonesia and Japan. With the investment, it is hoped to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the financial services sector, support corporate growth, and broaden cross-border investment opportunities.
‘This investment is expected to drive business growth and improve performance amid increasing challenges,’ said Yukifri Nazir, ABN’s CEO, in a formal statement on Tuesday (3/3/2026).
For the record, PT BOT Finance Indonesia was established in 1982 as a joint venture with AJB Bumiputera 1912. Previously, the company was known as PT Bumiputera BOT-Finance.
The company subsequently dropped the Bumiputera name, marked by an operating licence issued by OJK to PT BOT Finance Indonesia in accordance with Commissioner Decree No. KEP-307/PL.02/2024 dated 10 July 2024.
The principal shareholder of BOT Finance is now MUFG Finance and Leasing Co., Ltd. (formerly BOT Lease Co., Ltd), a Japanese financing company and a member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. With more than 40 years in operation, BOT Finance is one of the oldest Japanese leasing companies in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, ABN’s entry into BOT comes as Bumiputera undertakes a divestment.
ABN itself is part of the Affirmate Group, established in 2019. One of its achievements has been acting as the lead adviser representing PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk. (WIFI) and introducing NTT East as a strategic equity investor.
The Affirmate Group led the structuring and coordination of NTT East’s strategic investment worth around Rp 4 trillion into WIFI.
