Trends in aesthetic care in Indonesia are shifting toward results that look natural and shorter recovery times, as the public grows more focused on comfort and subtlety. Previously, aesthetic procedures were often associated with noticeable changes and instant results; today patients increasingly value comfort, natural outcomes, and shorter recovery times.

Interest is rising in non-invasive skin-tightening technologies that can firm the skin without surgery or extended downtime.

Dr Nur Dalilah, a dermatologist and gynaecology specialist at Blink Beauty Clinic, said people are becoming more selective in choosing aesthetic treatments, particularly those that preserve the natural character of the face. ‘Patients are now looking for treatments whose results are natural, comfortable, and do not disrupt daily activities. That is why non-invasive technologies are increasingly in demand,’ she said at the launch of the XERF technology at Blink Beauty Clinic, Jakarta, on Friday 22 May.

According to her, advances in technology mean facial skin-tightening procedures can now be performed with greater comfort than earlier generations.

One technology being introduced in Indonesia is XERF by Cynosure Lutronic, a radiofrequency-based skin tightening device featuring a multi-frequency monopolar RF system. The device uses a combination of 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies to distribute energy more evenly and reach deeper skin layers to stimulate collagen formation.

Unlike some RF technologies that use micro-needling, the XERF procedure is said not to injure skin tissue, and thus has no downtime.

‘Through Accurate Impedance Feedback, XERF can analyse the skin in real time to ensure heat delivery is most effective and precise for the patient,’ Nur Dalilah said.

She added that aesthetic technology now trends toward personalised care and increased patient comfort without compromising the final results.

She noted the trend is also linked to rising awareness of the healthy ageing concept, which emphasises maintaining skin quality and a natural appearance rather than performing drastic changes to the face.

Nia Ramadhani, who attended as Brand Ambassador for Blink Beauty, regards comfort and natural results as now primary considerations for people when choosing aesthetic treatments. ‘I think aesthetic treatment now is not just about fast results, but also about comfort, safety, and keeping the face looking natural,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Marisa Theresia, Head of Aesthetics at idsMED Aesthetics, said the development of aesthetic technology is not only about the end result but also the patient experience during treatment. ‘We see XERF not just as the latest apparatus but as an innovation that has a major impact on the growth of the medical aesthetics industry, particularly in delivering lifting and tightening results that are more natural, safe, and with minimal downtime,’ she concluded.

The launch of XERF at Blink Beauty marks the clinic as one of the first 10 clinics in Indonesia to offer the technology. The arrival of this new technology indicates the increasingly competitive landscape among aesthetic clinics to provide technology-based services that prioritise safety, comfort, and more natural results in line with urban demand.
