Aerospace to Railway Collaboration Targeted in SIBS@ASEAN 2026
The conference aims to drive industrial investment and nurture long-term partnerships between two economic powerhouses, namely Selangor and West Java.
Bandung (ANTARA) — The West Java Provincial Government and the Malaysian state government of Selangor are targeting collaboration across several high-value industrial sectors, including aerospace, railways, creative industries, energy, property and technology, at the Selangor Indonesia Business Summit (SIBS)@ASEAN 2026.
SIBS@ASEAN began with a two-day economic conference at the Pullman Hotel in Bandung, West Java, held from Thursday to Friday (10/7). Through this agenda, the Selangor delegation is scheduled to make direct field visits to several leading industrial centres in West Java.
“This conference aims to drive industrial investment and nurture long-term partnerships between two economic powerhouses, namely Selangor and West Java,” said Dedi Taufik, Head of the West Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), in Bandung on Thursday.
On the first day, the conference was officially opened with addresses from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan.
The meeting continued with presentations on infrastructure development plans by West Java representatives, while the Selangor delegation presented the latest developments in the industrial sector in their region.
In addition to discussing potential physical investment, the meeting between the two regions featured panel discussions on strengthening supply chains, business and the financial sector between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Dedi explained that the forum also opened the door to concrete partnerships between institutions of the two countries.
These include exploratory cooperation between Universiti Selangor and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Tourism Selangor and Batik Air, Tourism Selangor and the Indonesian Travel Companies Association (Asita), as well as the Wanita Berdaya Selangor organisation and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).
To strengthen implementation on the ground, the cooperation actively involves the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and Invest Selangor Berhad, the official investment promotion agency of Selangor.
The exhibition activities at the conference were enlivened by the presence of 30 booths from various healthcare and education institutions from Selangor.
Participating institutions included Ampang Putri Specialist Hospital, MSU Medical Centre, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre, Universiti Selangor, Universiti Tenaga Nasional and Universiti Islam Selangor.
The strategic partnership commitment between West Java and Selangor does not stop at the meeting in the Flower City.
According to Dedi, all agreements and collaboration opportunities built up will be followed up more broadly at the international Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, scheduled to take place on 14–17 October 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.
