Aerospace to Railway Collaboration Targeted in SIBS@ASEAN 2026

The West Java Provincial Government and the Selangor State Government of Malaysia are targeting collaboration in a number of high-value industrial sectors, including aerospace, railways, the creative industry, energy, property, and technology, at the Selangor Indonesia Business Summit (SIBS)@ASEAN 2026. SIBS@ASEAN commenced with a two-day economic conference at the Pullman Hotel Bandung, West Java, which took place from Thursday to Friday (10/7). Through this agenda, the Selangor delegation is scheduled to conduct direct field visits to several leading industrial centres in West Java. “This conference aims to encourage industrial investment and foster long-term partnerships between two economic powerhouses, namely Selangor and West Java,” said Dedi Taufik, Head of the West Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), in Bandung on Thursday. On the first day, the conference was officially opened with remarks from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan. The meeting continued with a presentation of infrastructure development plans by West Java representatives, while the Selangor delegation presented the latest developments in their region’s industrial sector. In addition to discussing physical investment potential, the meeting between the two regions featured panel discussions on strengthening supply chains, business, and the financial sector between Indonesia and Malaysia. Dedi explained that the forum also opened up space for concrete institutional partnerships between the two countries. These include exploring cooperation between Universiti Selangor and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Tourism Selangor with Batik Air, Tourism Selangor with the Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (Asita), and the Wanita Berdaya Selangor organisation with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). To strengthen on-the-ground implementation, this cooperation actively involves the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and Invest Selangor Berhad, the official investment handling agency in Selangor. The exhibition activities at the conference were also enlivened by the presence of 30 booths from various health and educational institutions from Selangor. Participating institutions included Ampang Putri Specialist Hospital, MSU Medical Centre, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre, Universiti Selangor, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, and Universiti Islam Selangor. The strategic partnership commitment between West Java and Selangor does not end with the meeting in the City of Flowers. According to Dedi, all agreements and collaborative opportunities established will be followed up more broadly at the international Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, scheduled to take place on 14-17 October 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.
