Aerobics c'ships to be held here

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Women's Sports Association is to
hold the national aerobics championships here next Sunday.

Committee chairman Mien Gondowidjojo said yesterday that
hundreds of national gymnasts will be vying for the Madame
Soeharto trophy during the one-day competition at the Senayan
sports center.

"The championship is aimed at discovering more talent to
represent the country in international events," Mien said. Vicky
Burki, the Asian champion in 1988, Jinot Suprayitno, ranked 10th
in the world, and Esther Suwito, who finished 9th in the world in
1995, are among the Indonesian aerobic gymnasts who have
performed outstandingly at international level.

Chairman of the National Sports Council Wismoyo Arismunandar
is scheduled to open the tournament. (amd)
