Aerial monitoring of vehicle queues during Eid exodus on the Trans-Sumatran Highway
Aerial footage captured numerous vehicles moving slowly along the Trans-Sumatran Highway at the border between Jambi City and Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province, on Tuesday (17 March 2026). The Muaro Jambi Police District reported that traffic flow on this national road, which connects Jambi Province with South Sumatera Province, has begun experiencing slowdowns at several points due to increased vehicle volume, primarily from traffic heading from South Sumatera towards Jambi. The congestion reflects the typical surge in traffic associated with the Eid holiday period, when many Indonesians undertake the annual mudik exodus to return to their hometowns.
