AEON360 and Google Cloud Introduce AI-Based Shopping Experience
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Daily needs retail company AEON360 is collaborating with Google Cloud to deliver more real-time customer shopping interactions by leveraging AI for fulfilling everyday needs.
“Together with Google Cloud, we are transforming from simple digital interactions to utilising AI agents that can deliver the most relevant recommendations while performing more complex tasks for customers,” said AEON360 Chairman Daisuke Maeda, in a press statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
This implementation begins in Malaysia and will reach several other countries in Southeast Asia. The collaboration centres on developing contextual intelligence engines that go beyond conventional personalisation, with the ability to understand each customer’s unique preferences and needs throughout their shopping journey in the AEON ecosystem.
Along the shopping journey, the system will also dynamically integrate various personalised financing and reward options (such as instalments, cashback, or AEON points), allowing customers to obtain optimal benefits from the search stage to the checkout process.
Google Cloud will support the development of AEON360 employees through the Innovation Foundry in Kuala Lumpur. This centre will equip employees from various AEON business lines with Google skills and certifications, while serving as a dedicated space to develop and expand the application of agentic AI solutions.
The Innovation Foundry will leverage Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience (CX) to deliver ready-to-use and configurable AI agents, integrating shopping experiences and customer service.
This can enhance customer engagement and open up new revenue opportunities across the entire AEON ecosystem, including merchants, tenants, and suppliers.
“This collaboration will bring agentic commerce solutions supported by a ‘continuous thread’ of context, where information remains connected and follows the customer’s journey, enabling AEON360 to anticipate and meet customer needs in the future,” said Google Cloud’s Country Manager for Malaysia, Hana Raja.
