Advocating for School Improvements, Lalu Hadrian Receives KWP Award as Legislator Concerned with Education
Jakarta, VIVA – Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the House of Representatives, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, has officially been awarded the KWP Award 2026. This politician has been honoured as a Legislator Concerned with the World of Education for his dedication to advocating for improvements in the quality of education in Indonesia through parliament.
The award was presented by the Coordinating Body of Parliamentary Journalists (KWP) as a form of appreciation for the tangible performance of members of parliament.
The award ceremony took place at the Pustakaloka Room, Nusantara IV Building, Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
Lalu Hadrian expressed his gratitude for the recognition given by the media. According to him, the KWP Award is a positive initiative that can drive the effectiveness of the work of people’s representatives, particularly in Commission X, which handles education.
“The KWP Award is a good step from the journalists’ forum to mobilise our work as people’s representatives, especially in Commission X of the House of Representatives as a parliamentary body that advocates for improvements in education in the country,” said Lalu Hadrian after receiving the award.
He emphasised that this award is not merely a ceremonial activity, but rather an injection of motivation for members of parliament to be more active in the field to absorb public aspirations in their respective electoral districts.
Furthermore, Lalu Hadrian appreciated the role of parliamentary journalists as an “outlet” for information that bridges legislative performance to be known by the wider public. He hopes that the synergy between media and parliament can continue to be enhanced for the sake of transparency and public education.
“The most important thing is that the synergy between media and Parliament continues to run well, so that the public is educated about the work of the Legislature,” he added.
The KWP Award 2026 is a biennial routine agenda themed “Guiding the Struggle, Appreciating Dedication: Together Realising Golden Indonesia”.
This event aims to objectively capture the performance of leaders and people’s representatives through press observations.
In this year’s edition, there were more than 60 award recipients nominated. For information, this award-giving tradition has been consistent, such as the KWP Awards 2021 led by Marlen Erikson Sitompul and the KWP Awards 2023 helmed by Ariawan along with Samrut Lellosima.
The implementation of the KWP Award 2026 also received broad support from a number of state-owned enterprises (BUMNs) and private companies that play a role in national development, including Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, GoTo, Hutama Karya, PLN, Taspen, and Inalum.
