Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is preparing a fair selection process to provide legal certainty and career progression for 237,196 honorary or non-civil servant (non-ASN) teachers who have been recorded in the Basic Education Data System (Dapodik).

Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel (Dirjen GTK) at Kemendikdasmen, Nunuk Suryani, in Jakarta on Monday, stated that her side is formulating national teacher needs formation to have a mapping related to teacher redistribution, including involving non-ASN teachers.

“Because the government is formulating future teacher needs fulfilment, Minister Menpan-RB (Minister for State Apparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform) also conveyed that non-ASN teachers will later be opened for a fair selection that favours those teachers,” she said during an event titled “Media Briefing on the Circular Letter of the Minister of Education No. 7 of 2026 on the Assignment of Non-ASN Teachers” at Building D of Kemendikdasmen in Central Jakarta.

In addition, Kemendikdasmen together with related ministries and institutions is also discussing the selection mechanism for hundreds of thousands of non-ASN teachers who are already in the Dapodik system.

“So we are still calculating the redistribution first, then calculating the needs. Later the formation will be determined. The mechanism will also be determined because the one that determines the ASN selection mechanism is in another ministry, not Kemendikdasmen,” said Nunuk.

She emphasised that the data in the Dapodik system as of 31 December 2024 serves as the basis for resolving teachers with honorary or non-ASN status to comply with Law No. 20 of 2023 on ASN.

To date, her side has not opened options for adding new honorary teacher data to the Dapodik system that will be used to resolve the teacher needs formation in this year.

“That is what becomes our data base, namely Dapodik as of 31 December 2024. And after that, it indeed cannot enter Dapodik again. We limit the data as of 31 December 2024 not just because we want to, because that is the mandate of the law,” she said.

If there are non-ASN teachers who have not entered the Dapodik system after that date, her side cannot include them in the teacher redistribution or the resolution of non-ASN teachers in 2026.
