Advocate Reports Allegations of Inciting August 2025 Protests to Police

An advocate named Prabu Sutisna visited the Bareskrim Polri building to file a complaint against senior politician and content creator ZL. The complaint stems from allegations that ZL accused a political party of being the mastermind behind the August 2025 riots in Jakarta.

Prabu stated that he was exercising his constitutional rights because he viewed the statements made in a podcast as tendentious. He believes the accusations could potentially cause public unrest, especially given ZL’s status as a senior politician with a significant following.

As evidence, Prabu submitted a flash disk containing the full video and screenshots of netizen comments related to the content. He expressed hope that ZL, as a senior figure, would use more positive and wise language in his public statements.

Prabu added that he plans to visit the Press Council, as the video in question is considered a journalistic product. He intends to request a recommendation document from the council to supplement the case file. He is now awaiting further review and follow-up from Bareskrim, including an examination of the video by the Cyber Crime unit.
