Bogor Police arrested a husband-and-wife pair, S and H, in a raid uncovering illegal subsidised LPG adulteration practices in Cileungsi and Sukaraja, Bogor, West Java. Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto stated that the perpetrators’ actions result in state losses of up to Rp 13.2 billion per month. “Yesterday, specifically in Cileungsi, the information we received indicates that they can use 31,500 gas cylinders in one day. The result from 31,500 gas cylinders is estimated to cause state losses of Rp 13.2 billion per month,” Wikha said during a press conference on Friday (3/4/2026). Wikha explained that the state losses occur because the perpetrators inject subsidised gas from 3kg cylinders, intended for low-income communities, into 12kg or 5.5kg cylinders sold at non-subsidised prices. From the eight raided locations, police seized 793 gas cylinders ranging from 3kg to 12kg. “We are holding a press release regarding the criminal act of uncovering illegal practices of mixing 3kg subsidised LPG into 12kg non-subsidised cylinders. There are two sites, two crime scenes: the first in the jurisdiction of Sukaraja Police Sector and the second in Cileungsi Police Sector,” Wikha said. “From both police sectors, the total evidence seized includes 793 cylinders consisting of 435 3kg gas cylinders, 331 12kg gas cylinders, 27 5.5kg gas cylinders, along with 76 injection devices, 4 scales, and one pickup truck which we have also secured,” he added. Wikha noted that the first raid took place in the jurisdiction of Sukaraja Police Sector on Tuesday (31/3) evening. From the location, police secured 90 subsidised 3kg gas cylinders, 45 non-subsidised 12kg gas cylinders, and 10 5.5kg gas cylinders. Additionally, four gas injection devices in the form of iron pipes, one scale, and one pickup truck were seized. During the raid, the perpetrator with initials H fled and has now been designated as a fugitive. The second location of illegal LPG adulteration raided was in Dayeuh Village, Cileungsi Subdistrict, on Thursday (2/4) afternoon. Bogor Police along with Cileungsi Police Sector raided seven subsidised gas adulteration points and arrested the husband-and-wife pair with initials S and H.
