Promoting cooperation through China Summit
In conjunction with the China-ASEAN Expo, the first China-
ASEAN Business and Investment Summit will also be held at the
Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center on Nov. 3
and Nov. 4.
As many as 800 businesspeople are expected to participate in
the gathering. With the theme, "Promote Mutually Beneficial
Cooperation, Pursue Common Development", the two-day gathering
will feature the State Leaders Forum, and the Business and
Investment Leaders Forum.
The chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT), Wan Jifei, People's Government of
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region chairman Lu Bing and ASEAN
secretary-general Ong Keng Yong are scheduled to deliver
welcoming speeches.
Wu Yi, vice premier of the State Council, PRC, leaders and
relevant ministers of ASEAN countries are expected to share their
opinions with the business representatives.
Topics to be discussed on the second day of the forum include
"Understanding and Mutual Benefit: Solid Foundation for Free
Trade" and "Managing Changes, Fostering Innovation".
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Shumin said the
summit would serve as a medium through which businesspeople from
China and ASEAN countries could exchange views on business and
investment-related issues, as well as interact with their
counterparts and deepen cooperation.
The summit is co-organized by the China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade, the Ministry of Commerce of
PRC, and the People's Government of Guang Xi Zhuang Autonomous
Region.
