Adrianus set to beat Thai boxer
JAKARTA (JP): Whether Adrianus Taroreh takes on World Boxing Association lightweight champion Guzie Nazarov of Japan will depend on his defeating Thai challenger Singtong Nontachai in a non-title bout slated for Apr. 1 in Manado, North Sulawesi.
Adrianus's club manager, Bian Sondakh, said that if Adrianus loses, he will not be given the chance to challenge Nazarov. "That is our deal. It's a do-or-die battle," Bian said. He added that he was optimistic Adrianus would overcome the hard-hitting Singtong, scheduled to arrive in Manado today.
Bian said that, for the bout, Adrianus would receive Rp 10 million (US$4,900), while his Thai opponent would pocket Rp 7.5 million ($3,250). (arf).
