Admission Process for New Garuda Excellence High School Enters Phase II Testing
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) held the Phase II Test for New Student Admissions (PPDB) at the new Garuda Excellence High School in 43 locations across Indonesia on Thursday (16/4). The Phase II test for the Java Island and Bali region was conducted at five locations, one of which was at Gunadarma University in Depok. Stefanus Christian Julianto, one of the participants, expressed that he felt happy to take part in this Phase II test and hoped to become one of the students at the new Garuda Excellence High School. “I feel happy, even though some questions I haven’t had time to study, but I am confident because I have studied as much as possible and I rely on everything to God,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. Labib Nafi Sadoni felt similarly, stating that with the preparations he had made, he was optimistic about competing with other participants. “This Garuda School entrance selection test is attended by many participants from Sabang to Merauke who are competing fairly at the national level, but I am sure I can compete with the other participants,” said Labib. It is known that the Phase II Test includes the Academic Potential Test and Academic Test, consisting of Mathematics, Indonesian Language, and English. From a total of 1,478 registrants who passed Phase I, 1,334 participants attended the test conducted simultaneously in Indonesia’s three time zones. “Superior human resources are the key to the success of nation-building. The launch of the Garuda School PPDB selection is the initial foundation for preparing Indonesia’s future leaders,” said the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology. Minister Brian also explained that the Garuda School is designed as a special education ecosystem with an international-standard curriculum, adequate learning facilities, and the best teachers and educational staff. This school focuses on nurturing superior talents in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), while also shaping character, critical thinking skills, and global insights for the students. “All Garuda School students will be fully funded through state scholarships. Access to superior education is not determined by economic background, but by potential, achievement, and hard work,” said Brian Yuliarto.
