Background to the Case
Previously, an apology video from the accused circulated on social media. In the video, the individual acknowledged inviting the victim to engage in sexual contact via WhatsApp messages.
According to available information, the incident began when a social media user requested public assistance in sharing information about alleged inappropriate behaviour experienced by his sister.
According to the video account, the incident occurred when the victim was participating in a product sales event at SMPN 138 Jakarta. During the event, a man allegedly approached the victim under the pretext of wanting to purchase a product being sold. During this interaction, the man also requested the victim’s WhatsApp number.
Several hours after the event concluded, the victim allegedly received a message inviting her to meet outside school activities. The victim rejected this invitation. However, several days later, the victim reportedly received another message that family members characterized as containing an inappropriate request. The matter was subsequently shared on social media to seek public attention.
