Jakarta, VIVA – Adela Kanasya Adies, a legislative candidate from the Golkar Party, has been officially sworn in as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the remaining term of 2024–2029, replacing Adies Kadir, who is now a Constitutional Court judge.

Guided by DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, Adela took her oath during the 18th Plenary Session of the DPR’s Fifth Sitting Period for the 2025–2026 Session Year at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

“I must remind you that the oath you are about to take carries responsibilities towards the nation and the Republic of Indonesia, responsibilities to safeguard and protect Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Puan.

“This oath is to Almighty God and to humanity, and it must be fulfilled with all sincerity and honesty. I hope you will follow the wording of the oath that I will guide,” Puan added.

Adela then followed the oath as delivered by the DPR Speaker.

“By God, I swear that I will fulfil my duties as a member of the House of Representatives to the best of my ability and as fairly as possible, in accordance with the laws and legislation, guided by Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” Adela stated.

“That in carrying out my duties, I will work diligently for the upholding of democratic life and prioritise the interests of the nation and state over personal, individual, or group interests,” she continued.

“That I will fight for the aspirations of the people I represent to achieve national goals for the benefit of the nation and the Unitary Republic of Indonesia,” concluded Adela’s oath as a DPR member.

Adela’s inauguration is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 49/P of 2026 regarding the Official Appointment of Interim Members of the House of Representatives and the People’s Consultative Assembly for the Remaining Term of 2024–2029.

Adies Kadir, previously the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, was selected as a Constitutional Court judge nominated by the DPR.

Adies took his oath of office as a Constitutional Court judge in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday, 5 February 2026.
